Alcione Frederick

Do Good Campus Coordinator

Alcione Frederick is the Coordinator of the Do Good Campus at the University of Maryland, where she works in close collaboration with the Associate Provost to advance the university’s strategic vision as the nation’s first Do Good Campus. In this role, she supports partnership development, faculty engagement, and ethical campus-community collaborations, while also working with the Do Good Institute to promote student-led social impact, nonprofit leadership, and experiential learning.

Alcione brings over two decades of experience in higher education, including working for the Center for Public University Transformation at the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) and roles at Earlham College focused on community-building, equity, and student success. Her work has included developing student-centered frameworks, facilitating multi-campus initiatives, and leading programs that bridge policy, practice, and institutional transformation.

Alcione earned a Master of Arts in Cultural Anthropology from Washington State University, where she was a Peace Corps Master’s International Scholar and conducted her field research in Senegal. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Anthropology from Juniata College, where her commitment to interdisciplinary learning and social impact was first shaped.

Outside of work, Alcione enjoys exploring metaphysics, studying self-mastery, and spending time out in nature. She volunteers as an assistant instructor for the Synchronistic Hueman School of Enlightenment where she teaches on the Law of Time and heliophysics. Alcione is also a certified herbalist. A lifelong learner, she finds joy in creative expression, deep dialogue, and cultivating spaces for insight, intuition, and healing.
